For whom is the class meant?
     AFSL Pro - Language Levels

The Intermediate+ course is intended for students who already know how to adjust to a variety of communication situations, who can understand globally what is being said, but who still make some mistakes. It aims at enabling students to acquire active communication skills on different subjects while expressing their point of view.

What is the main content of the English
Level 3B Course?

The All Skills learning program for low-intermediates allows students to work on all the skills and knowledge areas of the target language.

All the activities, resources and exercises of the Rosetta Stone® Advantage method are included, enabling students to establish a close link between comprehension and production.

This varied learning program allows students to review concepts and rules they have already learned, to maintain their current level, or to progress even further. Reading, writing, speaking and listening, as well as grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary, are all included.  

Highlights from English Level 3B (Intermediate+)

At the end of this course, you will be able to: 

  • understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in his / her field of specialization
  • interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party
  • produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options
  • welcome & give information to a prospect in an interesting way
  • handle a problematic request and refuse diplomatically
  • explain a problem and use vocabulary associated with banks: credit card, expiration date, commission, etc.
  • answer the questions they might be asked at the airport upon arrival. State where they are going, for how long and with whom
  • learn about different means of paying for something: by check, in cash, etc.
  • talk about different means of transportation, lifestyles and pastimes
  • respond to someone over the telephone in an appropriate way
  • respond to a complaint or make a complaint using arguments
  • expose a problem, express dissatisfaction, reproach, ask to have someone intervene
  • negotiate prices and deadlines with a cooperative client or supplier
  • opening a negotiation, impose conditions diplomatically, and making an offer
  • give a reminder in the case of an unpaid bill and demanding payment
  • write a letter of resignation
  • announce and justify  a decision
  • understand the gist of a long, detailed complaint letter
  • understand the structure of a text
  • fill out a simple form or application and write simple notes, emails and memos with instructions

Certification Policy
